YOPE P2P Model - Handbook

In 2025, YOPE developed the P2P model: a methodology of peer support for young people deprived of liberty. Young people who went through the system themselves returned to (juvenile) correctional facilities to discuss themes that were central to their own lives, from family and identity to future prospects.

The model brings together the lived experience of Experts and the pedagogical competences of Facilitators, creating a space of recognition and shared understanding as well as learning and development. The sessions made one thing clear: when young people talk with and for each other, there is room for genuine connection and change.
